Mindfulness: Detangling Feeling | Thinking

Do not think of a Pink Elephant

Everybody knows of the phrase: “Do not think of a Pink Elephant”. It is not important, whether it be Pink Elephant or Pink Panther. It is about our Pink World and how we handle it.

What is so important about Pink? – The crux of this saying “Do not think of a Pink Elepant” is that you can not think of a pink elephant without picturing it first somehow. You can’t do it either with Pink Panther or any thing for that matter. You may try it! You see this is not the point I want to make now. I really want to eleborate on the pink part in conjunction with what Shinzen Young told me …

This morning I listened to the 6th audiobook of Shinzen Young of the pack called ““Science of Enlightenment”. By now you should know how thrilled I am about listening to these audiobooks. [Consider other blogposts on this site] He – to me – is a very reliable, resourceful and authoritative person to get your information and lessons from and easy to listen to.

Shinzen Young talks about ..

  • the six senses, Thinking body and Feeling body
  • Emotions and Ego AND
  • the color Pink.

The body as an automotive –As a self propelled object [automobile]. In our goal to “Experience Enlightenment in our life” we can practize Mindfulness. In doing so, we focus our attention on what happens in the body and life. And to tackle the things at hand we become aware of our body as a automotive or automobile.

This comparison holds true for these parts:

  • Arms/legs : automotion
  • Senses : measuring/probing devices
  • Feeling body (the neurological) : wiring system
  • Thinking body (hippocampus et all) : memory system

Don’t forget that magnetic streams can hold memory as does a floppy disc. So also the wiring system (Feeling body) can hold memory.

Emotions and Ego — Problems in our lives start when we see Feeling-Thinking issues as particles. They all fall under the categories: Emotions and Ego. Seeing these particles makes them tangible for us. And therefore harder to resolve. You can imagine seeing them as waves, will make it easy for anybody cope with life. For life really is a FLOW of Energy. Life is a Process.

Mindfulness –Mindfulness is something like … the attention you give to observe the energy flows in your system (body), which of course is Meditation. Observing without judgement. Observing to see what IS. And what one notices when one observes like this .. brings in to mind the color Pink. For Pink as a mixture of Red and White. As you see those two as the Feeling body and the Thinking body. It should not be difficult to figure out that Emotions and Ego are really the pink particles that make our lives more problematic then necessary.

Observe to sense your Feelings and Thinking’s, so Emotions and Ego be detangled.

For when Emotions and Ego are reduced to their source … being the Feeling-Thinking issues: Feeling and Thinking. Feeling these feelings in your body, seeing your thoughts … suddenly you will become aware of the wavelike notion these two have, when they are seen as what they are. And notice energy flow again.

Silencing of the wave — The Ultimate moment – Shinzen Young mentions – is the moment when waves Nullify. When there is Zero, Ion, Bliss, the Now. That is the moment of Enlightenment in its Purest form.

And that is the Science of Enlightement in a nutshell! … AUM

James Randi caught by the Subconscious

James Randi Tests Crystal Power and Applied Kinesiology

Applied/Specialized Kinesiology is more then muscle testing. (How badly ever done as shown in this videoclip!)

Although muscle testing shown is not actually Applied/Specialized Kinesiology, it shows how accurate it works. Applied/Specialized Kinesiology is the whole of TEST-OPERATE-TEST-EXIT (acronym: TOTE) of the Body Mind Spirit Connection. The videoclip shows how well the subconscious is able to express itself.

In reactions on this videoclip many do not know of what they are dealing with here. They express degenerative feelings about themselves. That is their problem, so be it.

The videoclip shows mister Randi supposedly exposing fraude when muscle testing is performed. At the end he gives SOME possibilities as explanation coming from someone who thinks himself to be fair and square.

Alas how far from the truth can you be, mister Randi!! To bad for you my dear mister Randi! The subconscious was telling the truth. Explanation?? Here it is …

The test concocted to expose the muscle test went way beyond mister Randi’s head. The subconscious recognized the RATLIKE approach and gave the only exact answer by choosing the best option presented by mister Randi himself: RAT POISON. A remedy to be described (homeopathically) for those who concocted this test. The energy of mister Randi was overwhelming the energy of the clear minds of the ladies. The Body Mind Spirit Connection told it all. We only have to figure out what it is saying.

Well done, ladies!! This was a shot in your own foot, mister Randi!
Cheers, on your Health!

Opleiding Docent Kinderyoga
Dolfijn Wellness biedt een opleiding Docent Kinderyoga. Het is een parttime opleiding. [9 dagen of 18 avonden. Flyer: http://www.dolfijnwellness.nl/Dolfijndocentenopleiding.pdf]

— Even écht tijd voor jouw kind zélf, even helemaal alleen.

============================================

Pauselock: Retentionmode equals Anchoring a State in NLP

Pauselock (Retention mode) equals Anchoring of a State (NLP)

Any kinesiologist is acquainted with Pauselock or Retention mode. It is my conviction this phenomenon equals the NLP-method, called: Anchoring of a State.

A State — The definition for a “State” is any intense mental-emotional imprint we can recall at any moment.

For example: Think back and remember that tune in that specific moment. Yes, thát moment in time. When was it? What experience do you recall? What were you doing? What did you feel? … Rhat tune is your anchor – your entrance – for recollecting that specific moment.

Anchoring — Anchoring is the placement of an anchor. That is obvious, isn’t it? When you activate this anchor you (un)willingly remember these sensations. In previous example it is when you hear that tune. There you go down memory lane. Wait there is more! You can anchor in all variantions of modalities: auditive, visual, olfactory, kinesthetic, smelling, emotion, thinking. And thus also when touching (kinesthetic).

Pause lock (retention mode) — We – as kinesiologist – use something called as Pauselock or Retention mode. A method whereby an anchor is made while muscle testing .

For example: Starting with a strong muscle test. Ask, “Think of that one moment …”. Test. (TOTE) It is my experience that limb (arm/leg) will test either “strong” or “weak”. In the latter showing a change of indicator.

The preliminary explanation for this phenomenons is: The emotional-thinking impulse shows weak in the first and a strong in the second case.

Kneeze – A “kneeze” (Michael Breen) is anchoring of a emotion-thought by means of touching the knee of that person. A good anchor results in an automatically reviving of that emotion-thought by that person.

Anchoring is Pause lock — A pauselock (retention mode) is present when the emotion-thought is anchored secure. A muscle test is an anchor it self, BUT for further usage it is necessary to make a specific anchor by touching the body, f.i. the shoulder or for mentioned kneeze. Reactivating the anchor by touching that specific place on the body should than give a change in indicator (muscle test).

Then … Anchoring equals Pauselock.

Use this notion and let it enhance your tesing experience!

How to Learn Anchoring Uptime, Hakalau

Keep your cool, composure and focus 100%

In his book Inside Tiger’s Mind: The Keys to His Success, David Norman quotes:
“I had a sense of calm that I haven’t had in a while. It was reminiscent of Augusta in ‘97. I felt very tranquil, very calm, even amongst the stormy conditions yesterday. I still felt very peaceful inside no matter what happened out there, I was able to keep my cool, composure and focus 100% on each shot”.
Tiger Woods

Norman suspects that Woods used not just physical skills to become a world-class player and stay there, but also subtle mental skills. The skill he is describing in the quote is called UPTIME in Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP).

  • Downtime — Uptime has an opposite state which all of us are familiar with: downtime. In this state you focus inwards and you are aware of your feelings, internal images and sounds. The state in which you daydream, plan, fantasize, create possibilities, play chess.
  • UptimeThe state of mind you use to play tennis: eye on the ball, observing the opponent’s moves, judging the racquet angle, focused not on the interior but on the outside.

Both states are useful, of course, depending on your aims. The appropriate state for chess is downtime, but if you want to get safely to the other side of a busy street, it’s better to be in uptime.

Borrowed from computer language –The term ‘uptime’ is borrowed from computer language to describe the moment when the computer is inputting data; ‘downtime’ refers to the phase during which the computer processes the data. When we turn on the computer there is a downtime phase while the machine self-checks, calls up the operating system and presents programmes for use. Then it is at our disposal in the uptime phase when we can write mails, use the word processor or surf the Internet.
This computer metaphor, however, gives only a general picture of what is really happening while people are using uptime.

Kevin Ryan reminds skiers in The Illustrated Guide to Snowboarding to use their mind to anticipate their physical actions. When they anticipate their environment, their actions will be early. When they fail to anticipate, their actions will be late, and they will be forced to rely solely on reflexes. Ryan suggests that if you are having trouble with the task at hand, you should relax and commit.

First step in Learning Hakalau: Relax — Realize being tense and rigid will only make matters worse. It is tough to focus on what you are doing when you feel tense. Breathe. And constrain from focal vision, in other words use foveal/peripheral vision to see 180 degrees. With practize you will feel what is happening in 360 degrees. And that my friend is the real thing.

Anchoring Uptime

It is possible to achieve the uptime state easily whenever you feel it might be useful to you. You do this by creating an uptime anchor following these steps based on Dilts’ description in his NLP encyclopaedia (www.NLPuniversitypress.com). Read the steps and you will recognize these steps concur with the huna explanation of Hakalau – the Hawaiian way to be Uptime:

  1. Find a place in your life where you have particularly enjoyed an enhanced sensory experience.
  2. Start by seeing the forms, shapes, colours, brightness, and movement around you, using both panoramic and detailed viewing. Set a specific kinesthetic anchor (i.e., press your index finger and thumb together or make a fist or hold your wrist, etc…) and count five.
  3. Hearing it all: listen for the differences in sounds around you and notice where each of the sounds are located. Listen to intonation patterns and tempo of any voices near you and to the sounds around you. When your auditory channels are fully tuned to awareness. Set your anchor again.
  4. Engage all your feelings: feel the textures and shapes of objects around you. Also, notice any of your body sensations — pay attention to both internal and external sensations in yourself and your environment. Take careful note of the temperature, pressure and humidity of the air against your skin, and the feeling of the clothing touching you. Set your anchor.
  5. Smell: smells go straight to the brain without any filtering. Notice the smells in the air and environment. What smells are there? Which is strongest? Are there other, more subtle smells? Take note of tastes, also. When your smell awareness and tastes are most enhanced. Set your anchor.
  6. Now focus on each sense system and begin to tune into all your senses simultaneously so that your attention is completely engaged with your external environment.
  7. Set your anchor as you do this and continue to repeat this until you are completely satisfied. When you only need to fire the anchor and your attention automatically goes to your external experience you have a good “uptime anchor”.
  8. Test your anchor several times today.

Learn to go into uptime at will — This basic presentation and management skill for teachers helps you to differentiate your representations of reality from your observations.

  • It provides the basis for a reality check;
  • it enables you to communicate your experiences more effectively to your pupils and helps them replicate what you do.

Just as Tiger Woods and the like aim for the very best performances in sport, uptime will empower you to improve your professional performances in education. — Tom Maguire
